1) "All Things Being the
Same" - Eddie Owen's place
Ellis is referring to a bar
in Decatur, GA. It's called Eddie's Attic and has quite a reputation with several
songwriters. They have kindly allowed us to link to their site. Pull up a
stool at Eddie's Attic.
2) "Here She Is" - Picasso
We are familiar with Picasso but
thought it would be pretty cool to link up to a site that has pictures of Picasso's
work. After all, everyone has "a
few things out of place".
3) "Here She Is" - Ferlinghetti
We'd never heard of Ferlinghetti
until we heard this song. After doing some investigation we found out that Lawrence
Ferlinghetti is a poet with a fascinating background. Here he is.
4) "Autobiography of a Pistol" - N.R.A.
Hopefully, everyone is at least
marginally familiar with the N.R.A. But if you want information about the N.R.A.,
here's the smoking gun.
5) "River" - River Phoenix
River Phoenix was a talented actor
who tragically became involved with drugs. He died a senseless death but left behind
a rich (though small) legacy of films.
6) "Who Killed John Lennon" - John Lennon
John Lennon definitely needs no
introduction from me. Ellis has written a lovely song about the rage most of us feel
about the media's exploitation of John's death at the hands of a so-called
"fan". Lyrics to the song are available at Ellis' Official Web Site. For those of you who
wish to read more about John Lennon and his work, just Imagine.
