Saturday 2:15

I’m counting 7 days

A full week in September.

I’ve got a bed that you can stay in,

There’s room as I remember.

Leaves will turn to color in the wind

Jack Frost comes and sleeps here like a friend

Open your door and the sun has come out again

Baby it’s the same sun you see, in Tennessee...

Aww, you’re sitting on the edge of the bed

Scratching your pretty red haired head

You ask me "do you mind if I change the tunes?"

You’re leaning over to change the station

Unaware of my observations

You read the clock and I say "That can’t be true."

It’s Saturday,

Quarter past two

It’s quarter past two, in the afternoon.

You say "Seeing’s how we missed cartoons and it’s much too early for saloons,

why don’t we see what the kitchen’s got in stock?"

My feet were warm the floor was cold

The vote said no when the men were polled

So I said, " I can’t seem to find my socks"

"They’re at the end of the bed, babe" you said.

I said, "Thanks a lot.

Thank you very much."

I’m counting 7 days

I’ll fly you into Boston

I’ll be your tour guide if you’ll stay

They’re alleys to get lost in

Leaves they turn to color in the wind

Jack frost comes and sleeps here like a friend

Open your door and the sun has come out again

Baby it’s the same sun you see.
