Greetings and welcome to the Ellis Paul Digest! If you're new to the mailing list, it's great to have you join us. For those of you who have been with us for a while, we are making a few changes from the original mailing list. First of all, we will be sending this out every month. The format as a whole will pretty much stay the same:   news from the management office, "Notes from the Road" from Ellis, and a concert schedule for the upcoming month. I would like to welcome Suni Edson, who will be the editor of this newsletter. Ellis and I are thrilled Suni will be helping us out in this capacity.

Ellis is going full steam ahead with plans for promoting the new double CD "LIVE," which will be in stores on March 14th. We are now accepting pre-release orders for "LIVE," which we'll ship to you around the release date.  See http://www.EllisPaul.com for ordering info and a track listing.

To mark the "LIVE" release, Ellis will be doing several online "appearances" on the release date--Tuesday, March 14th:
> At 12 noon EST, Ellis will be live in the studio at http://www.RADIOBOSTON.com.
> At 8 pm EST, chat with Ellis live on http://www.TWEC.com. Get your questions ready--these chats are usually a lot of fun.

Ellis' website (http://www.EllisPaul.com) is looking great.  Check it out when you get a chance.  There are new shows added to the gig information page almost daily.  Ellis has been active in contacting folks on the discussion board, so feel free to post your questions and comments--big brother will be watching...

The buzz around Ellis is growing with the news that the new Jim Carrey movie, "Me, Myself and Irene," will feature Ellis' song "The World Ain't Slowin' Down." The song will be played twice during the movie, including in the final scene where the song will be played in its entirety. The pre-movie publicity has already begun, and Ellis will be dating supermodels soon...(just kidding).

Once again, Ellis is up for a Boston Music Award--this year for Outstanding Male Singer/Songwriter.  Please help the cause by picking up a ballot in this Friday's BOSTON HERALD or by calling 781-306-0441 and having one sent or faxed to you.  All ballots must be postmarked by March 6th.

Thanks for supporting Ellis.

Best Regards,
Ralph Jaccodine
Manager

NOTES FROM THE ROAD (from Ellis Paul) -- Jan 26th, 2000

Snowbound in Medford, MA... January has been relatively quiet weatherwise--makes sense that snow should come in bulk.  This month has been split between Atlanta and Woodstock, NY, working on demos of new songs with Jerry Marotta in NY and Kristian Bush and Don McCollister in Atlanta.  I haven't done many shows, but I did play in Rhode Island for the first time at the Stone Soup Coffeehouse, which was a great night.   The new songs sound pretty good in the studio--two of them were written in-house as we recorded them.  Nothing like a pressure deadline... :)

The "LIVE" album artwork has been submitted to Rounder and it looks good as well.  The cover is me writing the word "LIVE" in mid-air with a flashlight--with time-lapse photography, the whole word comes out.  It is due in stores on March 14th and is a double album with cuts from the studio, concert halls, and smaller venues.

Really looking forward to the upcoming year and the results of "The World Ain't Slowin' Down" being the featured song in the Farrelly Brothers' upcoming Jim Carrey movie, "Me, Myself and Irene." Keep an eye out for that in June, and I'll see you when I'm out there playing...

Thanks,
Ellis
