This document assumes that Dial-Up Networking and Networking for TCP/IP are installed, and that a modem is configured for your computer. For assistance with configuring Dial-Up Networking and Networking for TCP/IP, call an Angstrom representative. For assistance configuring your modem, please consult the manual that came with your modem.
Getting the Connection Ready
To configure your computer to connect to Angstrom Internet, open the My Computer window by double-clicking the My Computer Icon on your desktop. You should see something similar to Figure 1, in particular, a folder named Dial-Up Networking.

Open the Dial-Up Networking folder by double-clicking it. A window similar to Figure 2 will appear.

Enter "Angstrom Internet" for the name of the phone book entry and then click Next.

You will be prompted for a phone number of the server you wish to call. Enter "209-0305" as it appears above. Click the Next button to go to the next screen.

Click finish on the next screen that appears.

Click "More" and then select "Edit entry and modem properties."

Make sure you have your modem listed beside "Dial using."

Under the "Server" tab select TCP/IP, enable software compression, and enable PPP LCP extensions. Click on the TCP/IP Settings button.

At the TCP/IP Settings window, select the "Specify name server
addresses" radio button. In the Primary DNS fields, type in
216.29.184.20. For Secondary DNS, type in 140.174.164.2.

Under the Script tab select "None."

Under the Security tab select "Accept any authentication including clear text." If "Unsave password" is available click on it.

Under the X.25 tab select "none." Click OK to complete the network setup. Click "Dial" on the original window to connect to Angstrom.

Enter your Angstrom username and password. Leave the field marked " Domain" blank. Click OK to establish your PPP connection.
