This document assumes that Dial-Up Networking and Networking for TCP/IP are installed, and that a modem is configured for your computer. For assistance with configuring Dial-Up Networking and Networking for TCP/IP, call an Angstrom representative. For ass istance configuring your modem, please consult the manual that came with your modem.
Getting the Connection Ready
To configure your computer to connect to Angstrom Internet, open the My Computer window by double-clicking the My Computer Icon on your desktop. You should see something similar to Figure 1, in particular, a folder named Dial-Up Networking.

Open the Dial-Up Networking folder by double-clicking it. A window similar to Figure 2 will appear.

Double-click the icon labeled "Make New Connection" to create a Dial-Up profile for Angstrom Internet. A window like Figure 3 will open, and prompt you for a name of the computer you are dialing. Type in "Angstrom Internet" as shown in
Figure 3. Confirm that the correct modem is described in the "Select a modem" menu, and click the Next button

You will be prompted for a phone number of the computer you wish to call. Enter "412 209-0305" as it appears in Figure 4 below. There should be no reason to change the country code. Click the Next button to go to the next screen.

The Make the Connection window (Figure 5) will give you an opportunity to change the name of your connection. Click the Finish button to create your connection to Angstrom.

Configuring your Dial-Up Profile
To complete the configuration of your new connection, right click the Angstrom Internet icon once to bring up a menu, and select Properties. The Angstrom Internet properties window (Figure 7) will appear.

Click the Server Type button to bring up the Server Types window, and click the TCP/IP Settings button to bring up the TCP/IP Setting button.


At the TCP/IP Settings window, select the "Specify name server addresses" radio button. In the Primary DNS fields, type in 216.29.184.20 as specified below. For Secondary DNS, type 140.174.164.2.

To finish, click the OK button for each window you opened. Your connection is now ready; to use it, double click the Angstrom Internet icon in the Dial-Up Networking folder. Enter your username and password as it appears on the configuration sheet.
