The iMac Internet Setup Assistant

To configure your iMac for use with Angstrom, follow these directions.

Locate the 'Assistants' folder on your hard drive, open it, and double-click on the Internet Setup Assistant icon.




1. Click the 'Yes' button.



2. Click the 'Yes' button.



3. Select the Right Arrow Button.



4. This is where you want to put your login information. The Number to dial is (412) 209-0305. In the next field supply the login name you chose when you started your account. Lastly, type in your password. When you're done, click the right arrow.



5. You will not need a connect script to connect to Angstrom. Select 'No' and click the right arrow button.



6. Angstrom does not supply static IP addresses, so select 'No' and hit the right arrow button.



7.On the first line in the box, type Angstrom's primary DNS address: 207.221.169.33 and return. On the second line, Type our secondary DNS address: 198.178.129.31. The Domain Name (or host name) is angstrom.net. Click the right arrow.



8.Your email address is your username@angstrom.net.The password this refers to is the same as the one you use to log in. You entered it earlier. Your software can 'remember' your password, so you don't have to enter it every time you dial in. You can leave the 'greater than' symbol in the last box When you are done, click the right arrow button.



9.Your email account is your username@mail.angstrom.net This is not the same as your email address, which is username@angstrom.net . The POP server handles inbound email. The email host is mail.angstrom.net. The SMTP server handles outbound email When you are done, click the right arrow button.



10. our Newsgroup Host is news.angstrom.net (the nntp server carries usenet newsgroups) When you are done, click the right arrow button.



11.Select the No button. (Currently we do not use a proxy server) When you are done, click the right arrow button.



Finish.Click the 'Go Ahead' button and your iMac will be ready for the Internet!
