Not exactly.

If you subscribe to the "Build It and They Will Come" school of marketing or are going to rely entirely on kindly reporters that are going to write about your new web site, then I have a great deal for you on some property in Brooklyn. Face it, the novelty of a web site has long since passed.

If you want visitors to your website, then you have to get them to your website (genius, eh?). Will potential customers:

  • Find your site?
  • Get what they need, quickly, when they get there?
  • Find fresh information, or will it be out-of-date?
  • Be able to contact you with questions or orders?
  • Have a reason to come back?

-- the list goes on and on.

Remember that the web is a communications tool and should be treated as such. It's a medium for you to attract new clients, and service your existing clients. It is no longer a plaything for your IS department (sorry guys) or some art-school neophyte that you hired on the cheap. To find out more, feel free to contact me.
